Children in the West Wilts area will be whisked into a world of make believe in new classes being launched by local woman Alison Rollinson.  The former primary school teacher is setting up classes under the national brand Pyjama Drama, and will be offering classes for babies, toddlers and children aged from six months up to seven years.

Alison was keen to explain that the classes are not about teaching children how to act.  She explained, "The focus of Pyjama Drama classes aren't about performance, instead they include everything that children of this age do instinctively; namely pretending, playing games, singing and being active.  Role-play and using their imagination is how they make sense of the world and they have loads of fun while they're doing it.  Drama also teaches children key social skills including confidence, co-operation and communication.

I'm very excited about starting these classes in Devizes and Seend as it's different to anything else currently being offered and I'm looking forward to the reaction from parents, nurseries and of course, the children themselves."

Alison is a former primary school teacher and lives in Semington with her husband and daughter. She decided to set up Pyjama Drama classes when she was made redundant.

Classes will be starting after Easter in Seend Community Centre  and Devizes at Coral Cove soft play centre on Thursdays, with more to follow. For further information please visit www.pyjamadrama.com or email alisonr@pyjamadrama.com.
