The date of the trial of a Wiltshire man accused of the manslaughter of a popular cricket captain has been set for the end of the summer – more than three and a half years after his death. Richard Elmes denies the manslaughter of Adrian Cooksey in March 2009, and will stand trial in a case that is expected to last several weeks, beginning on August 20. The 51-year-old from Semington Road, Melksham, was arrested last year following a re-examination of the case by Wiltshire police and the new release of scores of CCTV images taken on the night Mr Cooksey died.
