Melksham Man Tony Nicklinson Dies Peacefully

Tony Nicklinson who suffered from 'locked in' syndrome has died peacefully with his family at his side today. 

Mr Nicklinson from Melksham died at his home at 10am this morning it was announced by his wife Jane Nicklinson. 

Tony Nicklinson last week lost his battle with the High Court for a doctor to help him end his life. He was diagnosed with Pneumonia which made his health deteriorate rapidly. 

Mr Nicklinson suffered a severe stroke while on a business trip in Rhodes a few years ago which paralysed most of his body. 

A legal campaign, run by Mr Nicklinson for a doctor to gain legal protection to help him take his life was campaigned for many years however; the High Court ruled against the campaign. 

Tony Nicklinson died peacefully at the age of 58.
