Melksham Oak pupils turn up to get their GCSE results
So how to Melksham Oak results compare? When I went down to talk to the kids as they were opening their results, no-one I spoke to had achieved A*, although several had multiple As and lots had Bs.
Comments in the press that indicated youngsters were being steered away from "difficult" subjects like history, maths and languages also seem to be without cause, as most of the youngsters had taken mainstream subjects.
The pupils were also not happy with claims that GCSE exams have got easier, most of them saying that they were quite hard enough, thank you.
Stephen Clark, head teacher, said the results were a credit to all the
pupils and the enthusiasm of the teachers. Hilary Hutchinson, art teacher was enthusiastic about the results. "Everybody has worked so hard, these results are well deserved."
