More than 200 primary school pupils at Melksham Oak School enjoyed a French-themed day, taking part in art and music activities, enjoying some Olympics games before tucking into a French-style lunch - which they could only buy with pretend Euros!

Croissants on the menu at this Melksham School
Year 6 pupils from all the schools in the Melksham Cluster, who all learn French but have little opportunity to actually try it out in a practical way, came to Melksham Oak and made a Bayeaux tapestry before the highlight of lunch, where the only way they could eatg is if they ordered it in French...brilliant, innovative and hands-on teaching, for a difficult subject to teach and engage with the pupils. Make it interesting - sign of a good teacher.
