Wiltshire Council seeks local talent for major 2012 event 'Shine 4 Wiltshire'

Melksham performers can audition on-line for a chance to appear at the Wiltshire 2012 Festival of Celebration to celebrate the Olympic torch passing through the county on July 11, 2012. The concert will attract thousands and will be held in Salisbury.

The deadline for entries is February 26. People can vote on Facebook for their favourite act after February 29. The competition 'Shine 4 Wiltshire' is open to individuals and groups of any age who live in Wiltshire. To enter, email the council with a link to a You Tube video displaying your talent. This can include bands, orchestra, singers, choirs, theatre performers or dance/acrobatic groups.

Remember to keep it clean!

Following the February 26 deadline, entries will be placed on the council's 2012 Celebration Facebook page for people to view and vote for their favourite. The number-one act with the most votes will perform alongside a national headline act to be announced on February 14.

Hopefuls can audition online now by emailing 2012celebrations@wiltshire.gov.uk with a link to their You Tube video.

I don't think the final route has been published yet but am fairly certain that it will not be passing through Melksham.
