The Beeches Veterinary Centre

in Melksham presented a large cheque to international animal welfare charity The Donkey

Sanctuary in Sidmouth on Thursday 3rd March at 2pm.

This small animal practice is run by Jill and Trevor Warner and their

clients have raised £1,200 for the charity to purchase

much needed equine dentistry equipment.

Jill and Trevor raised

the funds for the charity at their practice’s dog

show, by donating £5 for every animal they micro-chipped and by running a calendar competition in which clients entered the favourite photo of their animal. Entry fees generated over

£200 and Jill and Trevor donated £5 for every calendar sold.

Jill explained: "We try to

raise funds for a charity every year along with supporting a local cat

charity."

The Donkey Sanctuary is home to

thousands of donkeys and mules, each requiring an annual dental

check up and treatment.
