Young Melksham people with disabilities will now be able to particiapte in a range of sports activities, including trampolining and football, organised by Wiltshire Council as part of a government programme called Aiming High.

The project will provide new opportunities for young people to get involved in a sport for the first time or to take part in an activity on a regular basis.

Activities in Melksham and the surrounding area include:

Trampolining at Christie Miller Sports centre in Melksham (3.15 – 4.15pm) on Saturdays from May 21 for six weeks.

A county-wide swimming project will be launched in June with young people from Melksham being offered one-to-one swimming lessons at the Blue Pool. This aims to increase the water confidence of disabled children and encourage them into mainstream swimming lessons at local leisure centres.
