All Melksham’s nursery schools

Nursery-schools kids in Melksham have fun in class and learn from each other
are into the swing of their new terms this week, but with an eye to the future they are
already looking for next year’s intake. It’s never too early to start
researching the best pre-school care for your toddlers. If you are returning to
work and your offspring are aged three or over, remember to claim your Nursery
Education Grant for up to 15 hours a week of nursery care.
Primary School has the only Local Authority Maintained nursery in Melksham, but
there are lots of other options. ABC Day Nursery in Bowerhill has a brand-new
baby suite, toddler unit and pre-school play area, taking youngsters from
infants to five years old. Broughton Road, Queensway Chapel Nursery,
Cloverleaf, Little Fir Tree, Peek-a-Boo (with only 20 places) and Page One are
all based in the centre of Melksham, and Snapdragon’s have nurseries in
Melksham and Atworth; last week they have launched their own in-school
magazine.
Other
out-of-town options include the Daisychain Day Nursery at Whitley, while Shaw’s
Rocking Horse Nursery takes babies and toddlers from 8am-6pm, with lots of
playtime and craft activities laid on. Shaw
& Whitley Pre-School made headlines recently when it won planning
permission to build a garden around the school.
Seend and
Seend Cleeve have a small, informal playgroup with a well-equipped play area,
and Broughton Gifford a small pre-school club in the village hall. Both meet
for three sessions a week.
Fee-paying
Stonar School also takes tots between ages two-seven, with a cute little
checked uniform for the girls. There’s also pre- and post-school care if
needed.
For
early-evening care, Bowerhill’s popular Boomerang offers After-school Play
sessions from £1 per session, and an After-School Club with play facilities and TV
lounge. Music Bugs provide singing and interactive music classes for toddlers; a fantastic way to introduce them to rhyme and rythm.
Comments
Worth mentioning perhaps that Daisychain in Whitley is the highest rated day nursery in the region according to OFTSED, who accorded it an "Outstanding" earlier this year.
