    The annual sponsored bike ride in aid of the British Heart Foundation sets off from Seend on Sunday, May 13 so you have plenty of time to start getting fit to join in. The BHF is also after  volunteers to marshal the course and help out at refreshment points.     Tom Bright (Bromham) won the Wiltshire short mat bowls under 18 singles championship thanks to his better shots average at Seend Community Hall. His opening match against Aidan Wickes (Westbury Blue Circle) was a draw and then he beat newcomer Roman Jeggo (Melksham and Shaw) by ten shots. Wickes then took on Jeggo and won by four shots. Bright will also represent Wiltshire in the under 18 singles national championship in March.

    Bradley Scott from Melksham won his fight on Saturday at the Shock N Awe event in portsmouth taking his proffessional record to 7-1-0. This was his first fight back after being out injured for 6 months with a broken hand. He won in the 1st round by submission. Brad is signed to a pro management company with big things lined up in the coming year! Brad was featured in the Wiltshire Times last week.

    On Sat the 16th July 2 fighters from Dragonslair Mixed Martial Arts in Melksham fought on the televised KnuckleUp event at Bath Pavillion hosted by ex popstar Dane Bowers. Rich Sheppherd and Phil Carter both won their fights taking the clubs winning streak to 6 wins from the last 6 fights!.The show is due to be shown on The Active Channel Sky 281 in a few weeks
