Train Services to Melksham - opportunity, Your input, please
By Well House Consultants | Friday, February 04, 2011, 22:10
Would you like to see more trains serving Melksham? At present we have just 2 a day each way and that puts Melksham at something of a disadvantage. From December, there may be extra trains in the 'Bristol area', and The Chambers of Commerce, Wiltshire Council, Our MP, Network Rail, First Great Western and the Community Rail Partnership are putting proposals forward to increase the service to around 10 trains a day each way.

TransWilts Rail (that's the organisations above, working together) have an online questionaire running until 18th Feb and would welcome YOUR inputs - we need to know what would be the service you want, and we would like to get as many surveys completed as possible to help gauge the interest and strengthen the case:

ReportSasha - it's Friday morning, in Trowbridge. As it's being hosted by the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce, it's not quite within my bailywick to unilaterally throw it open as a public meeting. Which I would be doing if I put up the exact start time and which particular Trowbridge venue it is. But I can invite people who are interested and get them on the attendance list. Are YOU interested in coming along??

ReportHi I think it would be great to get more trains into Bristol and Bath; parking in Bath is a complete and expensive nightmare!
In fact so is driving through Melksham at the moment - took us 20 minutes to get from the Semington roundabout to past Asda on Thursday in the midde of the morning.
